Styled shoot Spotlight and the importance of collaboration
Every now and then, as a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I get the chance to step out of the usual hustle and bustle of wedding days and dive into something just as exciting—a styled shoot. Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with some incredible wedding industry pros at The Hidden Oak, a stunning Teesside wedding venue tucked away in Stockton.
This shoot wasn’t just about capturing beautiful images (although there were plenty of those!). It was also about connection, creativity, and refining the experience I offer to couples planning their big day.
The Hidden Oak: A Hidden Gem
If you haven’t heard of The Hidden Oak yet, you’re in for a treat. This Teesside wedding venue is aptly named as its nestled away on the outskirts of Stockton. It is extremely accessible yet a true hidden gem of a venue. The perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance offer couples a truly unique space to celebrate. From its gorgeous outdoor ceremony area to the cozy indoor reception spaces, The Hidden Oak is a dream location for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
As a Teesside wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop. The venue’s mix of natural light, earthy tones, and stylish details gave us endless opportunities to create something special.
Collaboration: The Secret Ingredient
One of the best things about styled shoots like this one is the chance to collaborate with other wedding suppliers. Weddings are a team effort, and working alongside florists, cake designers, stylists, and venue coordinators helps me understand how everyone’s roles come together to create a seamless day for you.
For this shoot, I teamed up with a fantastic group of local suppliers, each bringing their own flair to the table. The venue stylist transformed the space with lush decor that was equal parts elegant and inviting. The cake designer outdid themselves with a show-stopping creation that tasted as good as it looked (yes, I had a cheeky sample!). Throw into the mix a bespoke handmade dress, stunning stationary and superb hair and make up artists this was a winning combination, not to forget of course the awesome couple who are a real life couple. They totally nailed it.
There was even a Prosecco Pony to help us out along the way.
By working with these talented professionals, I not only captured gorgeous images but also learned more about how their expertise enhances your wedding day. Whether it’s the perfect bouquet or a beautifully styled venue, these details make a big difference—and as your photographer, I’m here to capture every bit of it.
This was also my first time working with a content creator which in itself was a great experience.
